FALLOUT 4 could be heading for uncharted waters on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Bethesda's upcoming DLC offering.
While various quirky areas have been explored in past content for games like Fallout 3, it appears the evidence of an underwater adventure is building up.
Fallout 3 led the way in terms of thinking outside of the box, taking the Lone Wanderer into space, while also giving players the chance to go back in time through an military simulation.
Fans have already looked to tidbits of existing information to try and piece together if Bethesda are planning an adventure under the sea, taking note of a datamined Harpoon Gun and various concept images showing underwater exploration.
And now yet more evidence has been unearthed suggesting this could be a big DLC expansion for Fallout 4 fans.
NPCs talking about certain underwater events appear to point the way to the potential opening of new underwater locations.
One NPC can be heard talking about the Ghoul Whale, insisting that it is real, that it haunts the depths and is called Ol’ Peg.
Hancock is also heard talking about what’s under water, speculating on how big other animals could have gotten based on the mutated Mirelurks found around the sea’s edge.
Players have gone to great lengths searching the ocean’s depths by disabling the water in the game to have a good nosey around.
Unfortunately nothing substantial has been found, while the reference to a giant whale could in fact be linked to another large object that can be found while swimming around in Boston Harbour, attached to the side quest, Here There Be Monsters.
However, a big whale enemy and a Harpoon Gun, with epic concept art, does paint a pretty interesting picture for those hoping for a quirky Fallout DLC offering.
