TWITTER boss Jack Dorsey has hinted at what will really happen to users’ timelines after a furious campaign was mounted under the #RIPTwitter hashtag.

It had been reported that the social network was going to introduce an algorithm to show relevant tweets rather than a real-time stream.
But chief executive Jack Dorsey took to Twitter on Saturday to dispute the report.

But despite his intervention, users were still not happy. One wrote: "Why doesn't anyone believe you? Oh yes, your actions for the past six months."
Mr Dorsey's comments came after a furious backlash over the reported plans, with users of the 140-character micro-blogging getting #RIPTwitter trending.

One wrote: "Twitter, I use you because you aren't facebook...so stop trying to be like facebook #RIPtwitter"

Twitter is facing slowing user growth and has been trying to make its service more appealing with a feature called Moments.
It compiles photos, videos and messages about big news events.
Twitter reveals its quarterly earnings later this week.
