Gaming news this week includes Fallout 4, ARK Survival and Nintendo NX

A brand new creature is being introduced to the ARK world through the latest update, following the game's recently announced success on Xbox One.
The Procoptodon - a giant Kangaroo - arrived after Studio Wildcard revealed that ARK: Survival Evolved has been downloaded an incredible one million times following its early access release.
The new rideable beast can leap high and carry two players, giving the chance of a speedy attack and getaway.
Co-Founder and Co-Creative Director Jesse Rapczak revealed some of the plans set out for the game in the coming week, commenting: “There are still at least seven months remaining until ARK’s final release on all platforms.
“During that time you can expect community feedback to be integrated into the Xbox One version of the game with regular updates about every two weeks.
“This will eventually include highly-demanded features like split screen support, gamepad customisation, UI improvements, tweaks to current game modes, balancing improvements and all the new content that is going into the PC version.
Fallout 4 fans on PC are having to deal with a fresh wave of issues affecting the game following the latest system update release for Windows 10.
It is believed a number of settings have been restored to 'default', with folders also removed from the local hard drive.
Many gamers are unhappy as a result, but one Reddit user believes he has figured out a way to overcome the latest performance issues.

Fallout 4 fans have faced fresh challenges this week

The Nintendo NX has been backed to shine if the reports of a hybrid multi-platform design prove true, although it will still face a challenging market taking on the Xbox One and PS4.
Queensland University of Technology video game lecturer Mitchell McEwan, told the New Daily that it would be a big boost for the games giant to launch such a device but would also need to break into the console race mid-cycle.
“It makes sense – they’ve been struggling in both markets – to not have to support both platforms with independent software, but to actually put all their development efforts toward one console," McEwan said.
“It makes sense – they’ve been struggling in both markets – to not have to support both platforms with independent software, but to actually put all their development efforts toward one console," McEwan said.
“The rumour about the NX is that it’s a hybrid console, so it would be a portable console like a 3DS, like a handheld, that interfaces with a home console.
“First of all, it’s very hard to break in mid-cycle," he added.
"Playstation 4 and Xbox One are just reaching their peak now. They’ve been out for a couple of years, so Nintendo would be coming in mid-hardware cycle, which historically has been a very hard thing to do well.”
