MANCHESTER CITY are ready to spend big when Pep Guardiola arrives as they enter the chase for Barcelona striker Luis Suarez.

Luis Suarez has five goals in five games in this season's Champions League campaign for Barcelona

According to the Mirror, the former Liverpool frontman is top of their summer transfer window wishlist.
The Barcelona striker signed at the Nou Camp after Guardiola had departed in 2012 to take a sabbatical before taking over at Bayern Munich.
Liverpool sold their prized asset to Luis Enrique’s side in 2014 for a fee of £62 million, but his outstanding form in Spain has gone a long way to repaying such a figure.
Having helped Barcelona achieve a stunning treble last season, Barcelona would be reluctant to see one of their key front three depart.

However, City are apparently confident they can get a deal done and see 29-year-old Suarez make a return to the Premier League.
The key factor in the move is who Suarez is represented by, as the Uruguay international’s agent is none other than Guardiola’s brother Pere.
A transfer is reportedly encouraged as a possibility, and due to Suarez turning 30 next term, a fee in the region of £40 million could reportedly tempt Barcelona to do business.
Suarez has made his intentions clear though that he would only rejoin Liverpool if he were to make a surprise comeback to England, having spent two-and-a-half years at Anfield.

Guardiola is a big fan of Suarez’s style and ability, despite his controversy-filled career, and the striker would work as a starting point to rebuild a City team to fit the manager’s mould.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are still currently competing on all four fronts in the Premier League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup and Champions League for a quadruple.
But the squad is seen as ageing and in need of revamping for when their world-class boss takes over from Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad.
Suarez's strike partner at Barcelona Neymar has also been linked with a Premier League move but to Manchester United, however a deal is far from close.
