Metal Gear Solid 5 may have more story events planned in future updates |
METAL Gear Solid 5 could have new story events unlocked in the future by Konami, while Phantom Pain director Hideo Kojima highlights some interesting Phantom Pain speculation.
It can't be denied that Metal Gear Solid 5 has earned both high praise for it formulative open-world action and controversy for its apparent ending on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.
As it is still unclear if Konami plan to continue the story through Phantom Pain DLC content, fans have taken to looking over the game's code to find out if there are any more surprises planned.
A recent Metal Gear software update brought back a rather important buddy companion, following their official disappearance from the game in a scripted event.
However, it appears that bringing them back was always part of the plan.
Phantom Pain DLC has been a highly talked about subject among fans |
SPOILERS AHEAD:
That's according to new reports that claim dataminers discovered code in the game that revealed the story event was always set to be put in motion.
It also lists two other story sequences, including one involving Liquid's departure, which could also be part of the incomplete Missions 51, named titled Kingdom of the Flies, that was included in the Collector's Edition of the game.
Another vague line of code called, Story Sequence, has also been found but it is unclear exactly how any of this fits together.
One man in the know would be director Hideo Kojima, who has been busy highlighting some in-depth Phantom Pain analysis from writers Manabu Makime & Hitori Nojima, who both have ties to the franchise.
"Good speculation of MGSV TPP by 2 Japanese best-seller Novelists," Kojima tweeted, providing a link to the discussion.
"I also think that the exclusion of "Kingdom of the Flies" doesn't actually influence the main story," Nojima is quoted as saying.
"If "Kingdom of the Flies" had been in there, it would have been a pretty long segment by itself, and if you look at V's story as a whole, adding in "Kingdom of the Flies" as well would disrupt its balance.
"Unless it was spun off as a separate story entirely, it would ruin the structure of V's narrative. My personal guess is that really, they wanted to release it later as DLC, or something like that."
Konami have said in the past that they have no news regarding DLC content, or a big Metal Gear Solid 5 update.
