OUCH: Women are going to new extremes to revive their libido… but is it worth it?
You may recall when Kim Kardashian had her face injected with her own blood.
Dubbed the ‘vampire facelift,’ the cutting-edge treatment was the talk of the town for its rejuvenating and anti-ageing results.
Now, the same procedure is available for your vagina but not for anti-ageing purposes.
What the ’O Shot’ promises to rejuvenate is your sex drive.
As its nickname implies, the ‘vampire vagina injection’ involves a needle and a woman’s nether regions.
At the beginning of the procedure, blood is taken from the arm and the cells with the richest growth factors are separated.
These cells are then injected into the clitoris and inside the vagina, reportedly forcing the body to produce new cells and restore sensation.
The results?
Speaking to The Mirror, patient Sophia* seemed a satisfied customer.
She said: “After two weeks… the intensity of my orgasm was like nothing I’d experienced before.
“The satisfaction I feel now is on a whole new level.”
According to Dr Sherif Wakil, a licensed O Shot practitioner, most patients can look forward to these results.
However, it is important not to rely on the treatment as the only solution.
Dr Wakil said: “About 85% of my patients report a big improvement in sexual satisfaction, but any underlying hormonal imbalances can continue to affect libido.
“These should be tested and treated.”
The procedure will put you out of pocket by approximately £1,000, but there are cheaper orgasm-boosting alternatives.
Kegel exercises are known to strengthen womens’ pelvic floor and gadgets like Elvie, a vaginal exercise tracker, start at £149 a pop.
To date, there have been approximately 30,000 O Shots performed globally.
