The Witcher 3's epic year is almost at an end |
IT's been an epic year for The Witcher 3 and the folks at CD Projekt RED, with their latest title proving a hit on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Having capped off the year with a series a of free content packs and a new DLC, Hearts of Stone, it would appear that Polish studio are hoping to keep the buzz around the game alive until 2016.
CD Projekt RED released its epic trailer for the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, covering some of the game's major developments from its launch in May to November, 2015.
The question is, will the Witcher 3 in 2016 prove such a treat?
The Blood and Wine DLC launches in 2016 |
The Hearts of Stone expansion was well recieved and helped provide new adventures and developments that kept fans busy with another ten hours of gameplay.
HoS brought tougher enemies to the fight and meant that players would probably need to have reached at least level 30 before taking it on.
It was good move for CD Projekt RED to up the difficulty, helping to hold back the feeling that the game was set to only give more storylines to unravel.
The Blood and Wine DLC that launches next year will include 20 hours of gameplay but it will also be important that new additions, such as Runewords and Glyphwords seen in HoS, are part of the new package to make sure players are not simply going through the same motions again.
The Witcher 3 game director, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, shared his thoughts on the year, telling fans: "This year was really epic for the entire crew behind The Witcher.
"We launched Wild Hunt, the RPG we’ve been working on for so long, then we’ve gone above and beyond to give gamers as many free DLC as we could, and then released Hearts of Stone, which — judging from player feedback — took the game even further.
"And we innovated all along the way — if you compare Wild Hunt to our previous game, almost every element was improved or changed. Now we’re working on Blood and Wine, the final expansion for Wild Hunt which we will launch in 2016.
"To thank everyone for being with us this whole time, we’ve prepared something special — enjoy the Epic Trailer!”
