Metal Gear Solid 5 scores big success as Konami talk Metal Gear 6 plans
Metal Gear Solid 5's publisher Konami is in talks over making a sixth instalment
METAL Gear Solid 5 continues to be a big success for Konami who are now readying plans for the sixth instalment in the series.

That's according to new reports this week that claim the publisher are now moving forward with discussions on how to develop Metal Gear Solid 6.
The iconic director behind the series, Hideo Kojima, is not said to have committed either way to being involved in another project.
Rumours have swirled around the company over whether it would continue developing triple-A titles or move on to focus on different areas of the gaming industry throughout 2015.

The Phantom Pain has sold over 5m copies worldwide
Konami, however, have repeatedly denied these rumours and are reportedly looking at what could be done for the follow up to the Phantom Pain.
“When we start development, a large-scale investment will become necessary,” an unnamed Konami representative has been quoted regarding the subject.
It would seem an odd move to abandon a gaming formula that has produced such acclaimed success for the company, with Metal Gear Solid 5 confirmed to have sold over 5 millions copies to date.

Konami revealed in a recent financial report that those number included downloads of the title, which was launched on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC.
The publisher didn't reveal whether costly project, with a development budget of $80m, had turned a profit by itself but will be benefiting from a healthy multiplayer mode offering microtransactions.
The Konami Digital Entertainment division, listed revenues of around £280m for the first half of the 2015 financial year ending in September, resulting in around £68m of profit.
Konami recently updated the Phantom Pain's Event FOB missions, and also provides an FOB insurance service which covers any losses to materials or staff due to rival infiltrations for a limited period.
Event FOB missions offer no risk of retaliation as no defending player will invade your base later as revenge, allowing players to steal materials and abduct staff without fear of repercussions.
