BIG changes have been revealed by developers BioWare this week, which could have a big impact on their latest project, Mass Effect Andromeda.
UPDATE ONE: Former Mass Effect development director Chris Wynn has provided a brief additional comment on his decision to leave BioWare, who have also spoken on the situation surrounding Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Wynn revealed earlier this week on Twitter that he was set to leave the studio, with no reason given for his departure.
Responding to a well-wisher on Twitter, Wynn added: "Thanks Mitch, all is well with Mass Effect and me. It won't be long before I talk about what's next."
Wynn has worked on some big franchises in his career, with the likes of Gears of War and Madden filling his resume.
BioWare has also released a statement on the situation, which reads: "Chris was a great member of the team.
"We want to thank him for his contributions and we wish him the best in his new adventures.
"Development of Mass Effect Andromeda continues to move full speed ahead at BioWare Montreal, Edmonton and Austin."
Mass Effect Andromeda has lost its Senior Development Director, Chris Wynn, who announced his departure from BioWare on Twitter earlier this week.
No further information was given on who would be filling his role, with the project not set for release until late next year.
Details have remained scarce on the new project, with fans having to rely on tidbits of new information released by developers and reports claiming to include new "leaked information".
Speaking on Twitter, Wynn revealed that he would be heading back to the United States but was set to continue to follow the development of Mass Effect: Andromeda, which saw its official announcement unveiled at E3, 2015.
"It is with a heavy heart today to say that I am moving on from BioWare and Mass Effect: Andromeda, and returning to the USA," Wynn tweeted.
"The Andromeda team is the most talented team that I have ever worked with, truly inspiring to have worked with you each and every day.
"I will join the passionate N7 community and will eagerly await the release of Andromeda with equal enthusiasm. Thank you and Happy Holidays!"
Reports in the past have indicated that Mass Effect 4 would not include any characters from the original trilogy, although it has been claimed that the human-survivalist group, Cerberus could play a role in the story.
The latest release from BioWare on the development of Mass Effect: Andromeda, reads: "Each day, as we build this next chapter in the Mass Effect universe, we work to ensure we’re carrying on the spirit and heart of the series that we all know and love so well."
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set for release in 2016 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
