- Rank 4: Shotgun
Bungie have confirmed that they will be taking a short break before launching the next round of Destiny updates in 2016, although it's not clear the studio have planned next.
The studio look to be starting next year in style with plans to introduce some economy boosts for those Destiny fans ready to log in at the right time.
Bungie plans to reward fans with three items during January and it's likely that each one will come in rather handy for those hoping to upgrade their gear.
Community manager David Dague has confirmed that 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light will be delivered to every Destiny player on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4 and PS3 on January 7.
"Think of it as a gift card you can use in the Tower, where the stores are always open and there is a never a line," Dague commented.
"Buy something nice from Xûr with those Coins, but don’t spend all your Motes to upgrade one item.
"See the Postmaster for your packages when the time comes – you may have to clear your backlog for them to appear."
Bungie say they will let everyone know that the new Destiny update loot is on schedule via the usual update, while another more exclusive item will also be up for grabs.
For those players who plan to play the epic space shooter between January 7 and 10, they'll also be able to look forward to a mystery emblem being added to their inventory for their troubles.
Bungie have yet to reveal what it is but have hinted they will in due time.
Bungie also confirmed that Sparrow Racing League is still set to finish on December 29, although Dague had some advice for those who end up with a copy of The Taken King before then.
"Should you receive The Taken King as a gift in the days to come, save your fight with Oryx for later," he added.
"This limited time event is a great way to join the party and earn yourself some powerful gear that will be waiting for you when you need it.
"Racing is also fun, more importantly. At least we think so."
