Apple are selling six iPhones per second, their latest financial results revealed |
Using the average reading speed, that would mean Apple sold almost five and a half iPhones in the time it took to read our headline on this story.
It is slightly lower than analysts expected, but the company still recorded a profit of £7.2billion.
The Cupertino-based firm saw revenue climb from £27.5bn to £33.3bn, with profit up by £1.6bn.
The 48m iPhones sold includes early sales of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, which went on-sale in September, but once again Apple Watch sales numbers were not disclosed.

The importance of the Chinese market was also shown in the results, as it was the biggest market for Apple outside of the US, bringing in $12bn (£7.8bn) in revenue, a rise of 99 per cent in one year.
