Apple may FINALLY let you delete the default Stocks app
Apple CEO Tim Cook says you might be able to delete some default iOS apps in future
APPLE is "looking at" letting iPhone owners get rid of some of the pre-installed iOS apps, including Stocks, Weather, Compass and more.

According to CEO Tim Cook, Apple is "looking at" allowing iPhone, iPod and iPad customers to delete some preinstalled apps.
If you're wondering which apps Mr Cook is talking about, they're the ones you've almost certainly have buried in a folder on your home screen – Weather, Compass, Stocks, Podcasts, iBooks, Tips, etc
In a recent interview with BuzzFeed, the Apple CEO acknowledged that customers have often asked for this ability.

"This is a more complex issue than it first appears," he told John Paczkowski for BuzzFeed.
"There are some apps that are linked to something else on the iPhone.
It’s not that we want to suck up your real estate, we’re not motivated to do that. We want you to be happy
Tim Cook, Apple CEO

"If they were to be removed they might cause issues elsewhere on the phone. There are other apps that aren’t like that.
"So over time, I think with the ones that aren’t like that, we’ll figure out a way [for you to remove them] …
"It’s not that we want to suck up your real estate, we’re not motivated to do that. We want you to be happy.
"So I recognise that some people want to do this, and it’s something we’re looking at."

Clearly, critical system apps like Safari, Messages, Mail will not gain a delete option anytime soon, but Apple allow some of its other apps to become optional.
Unfortunately the Apple CEO did not mention when this option might become available.
With iOS 9 – the latest mobile operating system, available for free later today – Find My iPhone, Find My Friends and News are bundled with the software and cannot be deleted.
