A GRAPHIC documentary – which includes footage of sexual intercourse filmed from inside a vagina – has racked up 13.9 million views on YouTube, but should it even be allowed online?

The sexually explicit documentary is available to view on YouTube

Could this be one of the most extreme and controversial videos ever to be uploaded onto YouTube?
Filmed using state-of-the-art video cameras, the short YouTube film shows an up-close and extremely graphic look at sex from inside a woman’s vagina.
The two-minute clip shows full penetration, filmed from inside the vagina and the tip of the penis. YouTube viewers also see explicit shots of the male orgasm.
It appears the sexually-explicit video is allowed to appear on the video sharing website because it is categorised as "educational", rather than pornographic.

But the shocking footage has been branded "porn" by YouTube viewers, who took to the comments section beneath the online video.
"So disgusting," one viewer posted on the Google-owned video site "why are they even showing this what if a child see this" (sic)
"How is this still on youtube?" another YouTube viewer posted.
"Pornography." One viewer added, whilst another commented that the documentary was "the closest to porn on YouTube."
"Nobody noticed the 80's porn music or the ridiculous premise of "it's for science"? Oh YouTube," one viewer wrote.

Another posted: “AND this is how you can publish PORN on YouTube and get away with it.”
YouTube states in its guidelines, “Sexually explicit content like pornography is not allowed.
"Videos containing fetish content will be removed or age-restricted depending on the severity of the act in question. In most cases, violent, graphic or humiliating fetishes are not allowed to be shown on YouTube.
"A video that contains nudity or other sexual content may be allowed if the primary purpose is educational, documentary, scientific or artistic, and it isn't gratuitously graphic.
"For example, a documentary on breast cancer would be appropriate, but posting clips out of context from the same documentary might not be.
"Remember that providing context in the title and description will help us and your viewers determine the primary purpose of the video."
