Turn back the clock with a quick fix
Fillers can now be used to sculpt and transform the nose
EACH week our experts Dr AAMER KHAN and LESLEY REYNOLDS bring you the latest beauty news and anti-ageing advice.

These small adjustments usually give instant or near instant results and very little recovery time is needed, making them perfect for the upcoming party season. There are some ingenious ways to rejuvenate the skin, restore volume and lift and reshape features, all without surgery. You may think you need a facelift but a good cosmetic doctor should be able to suggest a tweak that will give you an immediate lift. Here's our guide to the small changes that can make you look fantastic.

Boost your curves

The curves and contours of the face are what make you look more attractive and younger. When you are young the widest part of the face is the cheeks, which then tapers down to the chin. Restoring this shape, especially the cheekbones, can make women of all ages look younger.
Fuller cheekbones also improve the appearance of the lower face by lifting the skin and creating a narrower jawline. Filling any hollowness under the eyes can also make you look younger.
TRY: The Combination Liquid Lift is a 60-minute procedure that uses a variety of dermal fillers to treat different areas of the face.
A thick hyaluronic filler is used to boost the cheekbones. It is injected under the cheekbone muscle under local anaesthetic and massaged into place. A much finer filler is used for the delicate eye area. The results are instant and last up to a year. The treatment costs from £750. Call 020 7436 4441 for more details.

Botox is good to help lift the brow

No frown zone

Women are often advised to hide their forehead with a fringe once they reach a certain age. However a wide, smooth forehead can open up the face, giving you an instant boost. A pair of well-arched thick eyebrows will also give your face an immediate youth-over.
TRY: Botox can be used to lift the brow, smooth out lines and give the illusion of a wider, higher forehead. It costs from £200 and results last up to six months. If you have thin eyebrows there are some brilliant over-the-counter products to help shape, define and fill. Try Diego Dalla Palma's Long Lasting Eyebrow Marker, £14 (diegodallapalma.com).

Fillers can be used to help improve the shape of your nose

The new nose job

As you age the supportive structure of the nose can weaken, changing its shape and position or making the nose appear longer or wider. One particular problem, which can add years to your looks, is when the tip of the nose starts to droop. Luckily there is a solution.
TRY: The use of injectable fillers for nasal contouring has dramatically increased in popularity. This procedure is perfect for those who are unhappy with the shape of their nose as opposed to the size. An experienced cosmetic doctor can fix minor nose problems such as hollows or bumps with fillers to create the illusion of a more even profile.
While the results are temporary there is far less recovery time needed than traditional rhinoplasty (a surgical nose job).
This technique can also be useful if you are thinking about surgery and want to see how you might look afterwards. Botox can be used as part of the treatment to help relax the muscle that pulls the tip of the nose downwards or to soften the vertical lines at the top of the nose.
An injectable rhinoplasty is usually performed using local anaesthetic and delivers dramatic results in just 30 minutes. The procedure costs from £600 and results should last up to six months.

Fractora Firm is a new treatment helping people get firmer skin

Get your glow back

Grey or blotchy skin, age spots and broken veins can add a decade to a woman's perceived age and can take away from the results of other facial treatments such as fillers and Botox. Skin tone and luminosity are a key factor when it comes to great skin and restoring a natural glow can make an incredible difference.
TRY: Fractora Firm is an advanced radio frequency treatment which targets uneven skin tone, texture and thread veins. During the 60-minute procedure a small handheld device that emits radio frequency energy is placed against the skin. This heats the skin and causes tiny pinprick holes that the body naturally repairs.
This process kick-starts collagen production, leading to a younger looking complexion. Depending on the skin's condition one to four treatments may be necessary. Visible results can be seen immediately and will continue for up to six months after treatment as new collagen is formed. From £120 per session.
