Call of Duty fans who took the Advanced Warfare challenge will soon be rewarded |
CALL of Duty fans will soon have Black Ops back on the scene but they still have one big rewards drop to look forward to in Advanced Warfare on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.
Developers Sledgehammer Games have been looking for a new way to reward fans who have stuck with the popular COD title and reached the pinnacle when it comes to prestige.
The team settled on a new event called Grand Master Prestige Appreciation Day, a catchy title for what will prove a big payday for those at the top.
Announced 30 days from its launch, Sledgehammer wanted to encourage their fans to try and push themselves, calculating that a month was enough time for anyone determined to complete the challenge.
Advanced Warfare introduced Grand Master Prestige to COD earlier this year |
The final countdown has started, with just three days left for fans to attempt the prestige feat, although those who have taken a darker path have been warned that they may miss out.
"Be mindful that this program is focused on rewarding legitimate GMP’s and we’re disqualifying anyone that has previously reverse boosted (after 1/17/2015), boosted (via collusion with other players, or by split screen), exploited, or tampered with their system, and players that receive a ban for one of these offenses during this 30-day time period," the Sledgehammer support team explained.
"The grind is real, and so is the penalty for cheating."
Black Ops 3 will be launched in November, following the Advanced Warfare event |
On Sunday, October 18 at 9AM Sledgehammer plan to take a snapshot of their records from all platforms and reward all Grand Master Prestiges with 10 Advanced Supply Drops, which will start being distributed on the same day.
"Rewarding players for their accomplishments is what Call of Duty has been about since Day One, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Grand Master Prestige community in Advanced Warfare," the developers post continues.
"These players exemplify the determination and hard work that the developers at our studio live by, and we’re rolling out an extremely special program to reward them."
Sledgehammer Games have yet to reveal their plans for new online content for the game but have been pretty vocal in the past on the subject of adding new guns and gearsets to keep Advanced Warfare fresh.
November 6 will see the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, with the full game being released on PS4, Xbox One and PC, while Xbox 360 and PS3 fans are set to miss out on the story campaign, due to hardware limitations.
