ARSENAL expressed an interest in signing Dinamo Moscow striker Aleksandr Kokorin - before deciding against a bid.
According to Moscow's sporting director Konstantin Sarsania, the Gunners were keen on landing the Russia international.
It was claimed he would have cost Arsenal just £4.3million.
The player himself is reportedly trying to engineer a move away from Moscow but Sarsania told Russian newspaper Sport Ekspress that he won't be heading to Arsenal.
“I don’t know where Kokorin will continue his career," Sarsania said.
"There was interest on the part of Arsenal, but now there is not."
Arsenal have already completed one signing this month, with Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny joining for £5m. Elneny's arrival at the Emirates Stadum was confirmed last week, with Arsenal still waiting for his work permit to be finalised. As for Kokorin, he is thought to be keen on securing a transfer this January in order to get games ahead of Euro 2016.
