Thankfully, a new extension for Google's Chrome browser – which has this hilarious hidden game – can help you stay in the dark about an upcoming film or television series.
 
Spoiler Alert is a simple and lightweight add-on that blocks online articles about plot-twists and spoiler-filled social media posts.
Users need to supply a valid email and date of birth to sign-up to the service, but handing over any additional personal information is entirely optional.
Unfortunately the add-on only lets users block movies and television shows already programmed into the software's own database, which is fairly comprehensive – albeit skewed towards the small screen.
