Black Ops 3 Double XP weekend goes Live as Treyarch deploy new update
The Black Ops 3 Double XP Weekend has gone live
THE Black Ops 3 Double XP Weekend for multiplayer and Zombies kicked off today as Treyarch deployed a new Call of Duty update.

From now till Monday, November 23, players will be able earn double XP in the game's multiplayer and Zombies modes.

The Double XP Weekend is running on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, the event will apparently not be running on either the Xbox 360 or PS3 version of the game.
Treyarch Studio Design Director David Vonderhaar announced on Twitter that Black Ops 3 would see the 1.03 update rolled out gradually and may have been one of the reasons behind today's short-lived connectivity issues.

The official Activision server status page logged that connection issues had been reported around the same time Vonderhaar told fans: "Version 1.03 is starting to be deployed.
"As soon as things settle in here, we'll get you a link to the patch notes."
The update weighs in at around 600Mb on PS4 and 900MB for Xbox One and is unlikely to slow any players down as they look to cash in on Treyarch's Weekend XP event.

Activision recently announced the scope of Black Ops 3's November release, revealing that in its first three days, the blockbuster title exceeded $550 million in sell-through worldwide.
During the three-day opening, worldwide sales rose significantly over the previous two years, including setting a new franchise mark, as digital downloads of the game across next generation consoles rose nearly 100% from a year ago.
Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing commented: “Call of Duty is more than a game, it’s a year round passion for a growing base of millions of fans and it’s only gaining momentum.”
