Not only is October 22nd the 75th birthday of the Brazilian footballing legend Pelé, but it is also the 100th anniversary of the death of cricketer WG Grace, so here are five facts for each of them.
 
1. WG (which stood for William Gilbert) Grace played first-class cricket for a record 44 seasons. 
2. Pelé was named after inventor Thomas Edison. His real name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento. 
3. WG Grace was a qualified doctor but despite being officially an “amateur” cricketer, he earned more money from cricket than medicine.
