Windows 10: Microsoft DELAYS refresh to Skype desktop messaging apps
Microsoft is planning to overhaul Skype to create the "best experience possible," for desktop users
MICROSOFT has missed its self-imposed deadline for an update for its new Skype messaging apps.

Microsoft has amended an official blog post which previously claimed its overhauled Skype messaging apps for Windows 10 desktop would be entering a preview stage by summer 2015.
Skype suffered a monumental OUTAGE, which affected businesses and families trying to keep in-touch across the globe.
Microsoft has since confirmed that the down-time was triggered by a "larger-than-usual configuration change."

Windows 10: Microsoft DELAYS refresh to Skype desktop messaging apps
Microsoft has previously teased the appearance of the refreshed app, in an official blog post
Renown Windows blogger Paul Thurrott talked to Microsoft about the subtle change to the Skype app blogpost, "We want to make sure Skype built into Windows 10 is the best experience possible, so we’re taking some more time to make sure it’s ready for users.
"In the meantime, you can continue to use Skype for Windows desktop, Skype for Windows Phone and Skype for Web on Edge."
According to Microsoft's earlier blog post, the refreshed apps will break-up the core Skype experience into three new apps.
"Later this summer, we’ll roll out the Preview for Universal Skype experiences built into Messaging, Phone and Video apps," Microsoft wrote in the first blog post.

Windows 10, which unites the Microsoft ecosystem across a host of devices including smartphones, tablet and desktops PC, first rolled out back in July.
The Microsoft OS saw huge adoption within the first few hours of its release – but the free upgrade process has not been without issues.
Users have reported agonisingly slow boot-up speeds, wifi issues and problems with child safety features following the jump to Windows 10 and concerns over the in-built tracking.
The news comes days after it was revealed Microsoft was working on a major update for its latest operating system, which featured a visual refresh.
