| Facebook has gone down this afternoon with users reporting outages |
FACEBOOK has gone DOWN today with users across the world reporting issues.
The site, used by 1.44billion people, is showing an error message which says "Sorry, something went wrong".
It added: "We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can."
Down Detector is reporting a spike of people reporting Facebook is down in the past few minutes.

As the outage occurred Facebook users flocked to fellow social networking site Twitter to vent about the outage.
The tweets got the hashtag #facebookdown trending.
One user wrote: "Facebook is down. Let's drive around in our cars and shout status updates from the windows."
While another posted: "#Facebook has crashed, everyone. Take out your pen and papers, I'll fetch the carrier pigeons. #facebookdown."
The outage , however, seemed to only last for a matter of minutes and the social networking site was soon back online after it went down.

Express.co.uk have contacted Facebook and are awaiting comment.
