Nintendo have pledged that Splatfest events and balancing patches will continue to keep the game running on Wii U, it is still unclear just how much new content will be added before it stops.</div>

One new weapon coming to the game today is the Octobrush Nouveau, which will arrive at 10am in the UK. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Octobrush-hybrid replaces the Squid Beakon and the Kraken with the Inkzooka and Splat Bombs.</div>

It follows the release of what could be one of the last maps for Splatoon for Nintendo, <a href="http://splatoon.nintendo.com/news/article/?id=66" target="_blank">the Piranha Pit</a>, which was added to the rotation on December 28.</div>

New video footage has surfaced online, apparently attached to an idea involving the history of Link and the Zelda series.</div>

Rumours of a multi-platform device, complete with a controller that can also work as a standalone device, have been swirling since the announcement of the <a href="http://newsnewsblog.blogspot.com/2016/01/nintendo-nx-new-console-update-from.html" target="_blank">Nintendo NX</a> project.</div>

However, nothing concrete has been pinned down by Nintendo, who have confirmed they will not speak further about the console until 2016.</div>

A new message shared by Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima reveals that the new console will continue to make up the core of Nintendo's business but he also speaks at length on how they want to expand their consumer reach.</div>

Nintendo have given an update on whether Splatoon will ever make it across to the 3DS device, with co-director Yusuke Amano revealing that there could hardware limitation to deal with.<br />

"I think that's something that would be quite difficult to realize on the 3DS considering its limitations."</div>

<strong>Dynamic Power Ups</strong> - Players can insert power-ups that are dependent on Mario's status. For example, by attaching a Super Mushroom to a Fire Flower and placing it inside a block, Mario will receive the Super Mushroom when he is small, and the Fire Flower when he is large.</div>

<strong>Event Courses</strong> - Event Courses arrives in the game's Course World online hub. Event Courses will feature levels from partner creators outside Nintendo. One of the first Event Courses will be "Ship Love," the winning level from the Facebook Hackathon.</div>
