NINTENDO news this week includes the new update for Splatoon and the release of Super Mario Galaxy on Wii U.
Splatoon's latest update has changed a lot of the ground rules for the top Wii U title, providing a range weapon balancing, as well as changes to ranking and stages.
Update 2.2.0 from Nintendo goes live October 20 and includes making Rank S+ players matched up with other Rank S+ players more frequently, while also adjusting the amount of Ranked points gained and lost by players.
Developers have also decided, meanwhile, that Rank S players will be matched up with other Rank S+ players less frequently, while Tower Control has also seen some ranked battle adjustments.
- The Special Gauge will automatically charge gradually for the team that has control of the Tower regardless of who has the lead.
- Decreased the speed at which the Special Gauge automatically increases.
- Increased the amount of knockback when players using Bubbler or Kraken are hit from above or below.
- Changed the way in which the Splash Wall bounces when thrown against the top of the pillar of the Tower in order to increase the difficulty to place a Splash Walls on the Tower while riding the Tower.

Nintendo have also launch a long list of weapon adjustments that can be found here, it should be noted that adjustments have been made to Main Weapons, Sub Weapons, and Special Weapons.
A new gun was added to the roster available to fans on Wii U earlier this week, the Rapid Blaster Pro is based on the Rapid Blaster but boasts increased range.
Nintendo encourage fans to try it out and to use their Seekers to create an advantageous position then strike from your opponent's blind spot.
It follows reports that Wii title, Super Mario Galaxy, could be ported to the Wii U.
Dataminers have reportedly found traces of the game on the European eShop servers for the first time, pointing to a potential re-release of the game.
The game can already be found on the Japanese store using Nintendo’s Wii games on Wii U program, with sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2, also playable.
There were reports earlier this month that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD was also being planned for release on Nintendo's latest console.
Speculation was also raised over whether Super Mario Galaxy 3 on Nintendo NX is something developers could be working on.
