A lot can happen in a year.
Apple – the world's most valuable company – released its first wearable device, technology firm Samsung completely overhauled its smartphone design and racked in awards for its stylish S6 Edge.
This was also the year Home Secretary Theresa May announced plans to introduce new measures for security agencies to spit on British citizens, something that ruffled a few feathers in Silicon Valley.
There were also new smartphones, tablets, drones, smart set-top boxes, malware scares and dramatic changes in online pornography filters.
