Wade Barrett has called out Roy Keane |
ROY KEANE's hardman persona may be put to the ultimate test after WWE wrestler Wade 'King' Barrett called him out.
The former Manchester United enforcer scoffed at Wayne Rooney's recent cameo performance on WWE earlier this month.
Speaking after the 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven, he questioned why the United captain was on the wrestling show given his recent poor form in front of goal.
"Wayne was on about lack of composure and quality, but I think he was as guilty as anybody. He needs to step up to the plate," he said.“Last week I saw him slapping a wrestler and I’m thinking ‘Why is he getting involved in all that nonsense?’ There’s no benefit to him. I’d have a look at that side of it.
“It’s certainly not helping him. I wouldn’t begrudge him going out and enjoying himself, but if you’re not at it yourself you’ve got to have a look and lead by example."Rooney slapped former five-time Intercontinental champ Barrett, during filming at the Manchester Arena earlier this month as the show toured the UK, Ireland and Europe. But King Barrett has since put ill feelings behind him, rallying to Rooney, saying he will 'batter' the former Ireland international if he's up for the challenge."If Roy Keane's looking for a piece, I'll batter him too," he tweeted.
