GRAPHIC CONTENT: People are SLICING open their hands just to look like Iron Man
People are slicing into their hands to embed LED lights, which resembles the Iron Man glove
THIS stomach-churning clip could put you off your lunch. Don't say we didn't warn you.

A group of biohackers are implanting a small LED chip under the skin on the back of their hand.
The baffling new technology trend resembles fictional superhero Iron Man, who has a ring of LED lights in the palm of his hand that fires repulsor rays.
Filmed at the Dusseldorf Cyborg Fair, the jaw-dropping video shows the chip – dubbed Northstar V1 – being pushed under the biohacker's skin.

Unfortunately – while it does look like Iron Man – the Northstar V1 chip does not allow you to fly or fire laser beams from your hands.
Instead the LED lights are activated by a magnet and flashes and glows underneath your skin.
The device is produced by Grindhouse Wetware and is used by biohackers to appear more cyberborg-like. That's it.

For safety, the battery-powered chip is covered in silicone.
A small three-volt battery provides enough power to light up the device some 10,000 times. The Northstar V1 is expected to hit the market next year.
The exact UK price and release date have yet to be revealed.

The skin is loosened to create a big enough gap for the fifty-pence sized Northstar V1

However Tech Insider reports that Grindhouse Wetware is hard at work on an updated version of the chip which will have Bluetooth, motion sensors and a rechargeable battery.
The small chip – which is about the same size as a fifty pence coin – is slipped under a flap of skin on either a hand or arm.
Tim Cannon, one of the men involved in the jaw-dropping Iron Man video above, posted an excited message on Facebook about the technology fad.

"We have the implants, we are preparing for sterilization and getting ready for implantation," he posted on the social network.
"Its almost cyborg time people. Saturday we do this thing. Pics coming soon."
