Windows 10 could be killing your hard drive – here's how to fix it
DATA: Windows 10 may be eating up your hard drive
EARLY adopters of Windows 10 may be losing large amounts of disk space.

Windows 10 users may be losing large parts of their hard drive after upgrading to the latest version of the Microsoft operating system.

The issue was spotted Martin Brinkmann from tech website .
He discovered that a staggering amount of his computer's disk space had disappeared after the transfer to Windows 10.
Having searched his hard disk he found a mystery folder named “RecoveryImage” which appeared to hold 27GB of hidden data.
According to Microsoft, this folder is installed on all computers that opted for the early technical preview version of Windows 10.

So, if you have this issue can the “RecoveryImage” folder be deleted?
After fully backing up his PC, Brinkmann deleted the memory hungry folder without suffering any problems.
However, although the issues were solved after removing the folder, gHacks warns that it can't guarantee deletion is safe, stating: "We'd recommend that you create a backup first of the system or the folder before you remove it."
Windows 10 has been dogged by issues since its July launch with many users complaining of problems.
The latest difficulties include computers getting stuck in a series of reboots due to Microsoft's new update policy.
In previous versions of Windows, users could choose if they wanted updates to be installed automatically or manually.
However, Windows 10 forces updates on users which then get installed whether you want it or not.
