THE Doom release date on Xbox One, PS4 and PC has been leaked, while developers have spoken more on the new title's take on the blood and gore story.
Doom's release date has been reportedly leaked for Xbox One, PS4 and PC |
It appears that Doom will be released on all platforms on June 30, according to the official product listing on Amazon France.
Fans spotted the new information and post online, which look to confirm that the game will be released at the same time on consoles and PC.
Amazon has been the source of several other high-profile placeholders, including that of Rise of the Tomb Raider for PC launching by the end of January, something that has turned out to be true.
However, many sites use placeholders for products that haven't received official launch dates and this could be one of them.
Doom will also see a beta launch before its official release and has been confirmed for all three platforms.
The game was unveiled during E3, 2015, showing off the new generation of gameplay the classic series would bear in its latest version.
Creative director Hugo Martin has spoken more on the game's story and how the overarching lore will be used in this Doom outing.
DOOM's official release date has yet to be officially revealed |
Speaking to Game Informer, id Software's Martin explained: "Story isn't something big in a Doom game, and we've taken that approach.
"It's not what people come to Doom for; they come to kill demons and blow sh** up in amazing ways.
"That's really been the focus for us. That said, we've definitely infused some pretty good mystery and some fun things for players who want to find it and want to dive in and explore it a little bit.
"We really wanted the world to look like that--to have a personality that would shine through in everything we did. So we have a lot of skulls; it's kind of over-the-top. A little bit of Castle Grayskull in there; it's very He-Man."
