EA have hailed the launch of Star Wars Battlefront a major success and have talked further about the new content and free updates winging their way to PS4, Xbox One and PC.
According to the video games publisher; Star Wars Battlefront has been the biggest launch of a Star Wars video game ever and is also the largest digital launch in the history of the company.
Fans on Xbox One, PS4 and PC have destroyed more than 15 million AT-ATs so far and while these sound like impressive stats, no solid data has been revealed in terms of sales.
Executive Vice President of EA Studios, Patrick Soderlund spoke more on the subject of content for Battlefront, something that has been flagged as one of the main issues with the game.
Lacking a story campaign and appearing somewhat limited when it comes to weaponry, users have been plowing time into the game while also pointing out that the game could do with a few more packs.
This is something Soderlund says the game will have in abundance, starting with The Battle of Jakku DLC that takes place 29 years before Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor.
The Battle of Jakku was created through a collaboration between DICE and Lucasfilm, and will include two maps set on Jakku and a new mode called Turning Point, which involves capturing three Empire-held bases.
"This is just the beginning," Soderlund confirmed in a new online post.
"We have lots of new content coming over the next several months that will provide new ways to immerse yourself in Star Wars."
