<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
The British heavyweight returned to the ring after three-and-a-half years out by flattening awful Aussie Mark de Mori in just 131 seconds at the O2 Arena on Saturday night.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Former two-weight world champion Haye, 35, is eyeing up a summer showdown with Joshua.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
But the Olympic gold medallist's promoter Eddie Hearn has poured cold water on the chances of it happening this year - unless Haye can win a world title.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Hearn said: "We are targeting a world title in 2016 and David doesn't really help with that cause. It's a big fight and a big pay day, but those are being delivered for Anthony naturally anyway.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"I'm sure if they keep winning, the fight has every chance of happening, but right now the focus is on that world title."</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Haye could win a world title this year but the earliest he could get a shot at a belt would be in the summer and that would leave it too late for a clash with rising star Joshua as both sides would want that fight to be in a stadium outdoors.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
That means it is unlikely we will see Haye against Joshua until the summer of 2017 unless Hearn makes a U-turn on his plans for his golden boy.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Haye barely had time to shake off any ring rust after his lengthy absence as he sparked De Mori in the first round.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
The former world heavyweight and cruiserweight champion did get to show his right shoulder, which needed reconstructive surgery three years ago, is as strong as ever.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Haye lashed in his big 'Hayemaker' shot to rock De Mori in front of 16,000 fans and then finished the job with a flurry of shots before medics rushed in to tend to the stricken Australian.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Londoner Haye said: "I don't think there are too many heavyweights on the planet who could take those kind of shots. I felt relaxed and sharp.</div>

<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"If there are any heavyweights out there who think I'm not the force I once was, I'm actually a more-dangerous force now. I truly believe that. Whatever success I had in the past, times that by two."</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Haye is likely to fight again in April but will be expected to step up in class following this.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
In New York, Tyson Fury sparked chaos when he jumped into the ring to confront WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in the early hours of Sunday morning.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
The British heavyweight burst into the ring just after American Wilder knocked out Poland's Artur Szpilka to defend his WBC crown.</div>

The WBO and WBA heavyweight champion got into Wilder's face as it looked like they would come to blows.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Fury said: "There's only one Tyson Fury. What have you got to say about that Deontay?"</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Wilder kept his cool but replied by telling the Manchester-born traveller to fight him this year.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
The American, who moved to 36 wins and 35 knockouts against Szpilka, said: "When you do step in this ring with me - if you do because this should've been done a long time ago - you can run around like you're a preacher all that you want but when you step into that ring I promise you I will baptise you."</div>

The unbeaten Sheffield fighter insists he is now fully fit to take on Bizier (25-2; 17KO wins) - a bout that will do little to whet the appetite given the 31-year-old Canadian has twice lost to Jo Jo Dan, who was stopped by Brook in four rounds last year.</div>

The Bolton fighter hit out at IBF welterweight champion for fighting mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier on March 26.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Khan’s team were in negotiations with Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn about a June 4 fight at Wembley Stadium.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
But the former light-welterweight world champion blasted Brook and Hearn for taking on the little-known Canadian.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
He also claimed Brook wanted a 50-50 split for the June 4 clash, but Hearn denied that when he retaliated on Twitter.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Khan said on the social media site: “I want it, Eddie wants it, Sky want it, all the fans want it, but then Kell decides to fight Kevin Bizier who's lost to Jo Jo Dan twice!</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“Never known of a world champion to have three bum defences back to back, make that four if you include Diego Chaves, at least fight someone in the top 10.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“Mandatories can step aside happens all the time, I was mandatory to Floyd [Mayweather] for two years with WBC.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“Brook wants 50/50 split with me, wake up son and smell the coffee! Be realistic and make it happen, even Eddie told you you’re not worth that!</div>

“Fact is they are fooling the fans fighting all these bums on the back of my name to hype his fights and profile.”</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
David Haye insists his first fight in three-and-a-half years against Australian Mark de Mori next Saturday at the O2 Arena is only his return from injury.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The former two-weight world champion revealed he never hung up his gloves after doctors advised him to following serious shoulder surgery in 2013.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And is adamant he is only returning to the ring to achieve a “fairy tale finish” for his career and not for the money.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Heavyweight star Haye, 35, has not fought since his 2012 win over British rival Dereck Chisora at Upton Park.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He twice pulled out of a fight with now WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury because of a cut in sparring and then the shoulder injury that required serious surgery in Germany.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haye flirted with returning to the ring for more than 18 months, but seemed more interested in a jet set lifestyle as he toured the world and mingled with celebrities.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But now the former WBA heavyweight champion – who revealed he was depressed and had to go through “dark days” in the aftermath  of his shoulder surgery – is back.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“The simple answer to why I’m coming back is because I’m physically able to fight,” he said as he put the finishing touches to his first camp with new trainer Shane McGuigan.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I always believed I would be back. There were some very dark days after the injury when I was depressed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“When my arm was in a cast for six weeks, I couldn’t do anything. I was in a position where I was not able to move around, go for a run or anything. That was the worst time. I couldn’t even have a shower.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“But you come through that and it spurs you on to achieve bigger and better things.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I know what it is like to not be able to function properly so now that I can I want to make the most of it. I want to fulfil the potential I have.</div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I’m not coming back for money. I feel I have unfinished business. My last fight was with Chisora, that was just a stepping stone to a world title.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Vitali Klitschko said he would fight the winner so I did it, but then he fought Manuel Charr and then retired. That fight didn’t happen, so we went for Fury.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“It was frustrating getting cut right before the first fight then my shoulder went for the next one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I’ve been out through injury, I didn’t retire. I didn’t say I was retired, or do an official retirement announcement.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“People retired me once they realised I had a serious shoulder operation, but I never said I was done.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“People think I’m coming out of retirement, but that’s not the case. I’m coming back from injury.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haye, of course, did retire once after his defeat by Klitschko as he had promised he would quit when he turned 31.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That hiatus ended when he returned to settle a feud with Chisora after they brawled at a press conference.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But there is no clock ticking on his career now despite being four years past the age he initially wanted to retire as he looks to finish in style.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I haven’t given myself a time frame until I retire,” Haye, who has lost two of his 28 fights, said.</div>

<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
The IBF welterweight champion has to face his mandatory challenger and promoter Eddie Hearn agreed a deal on Monday for the fight to happen in the UK to avoid going to purse bids.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
The likely venue for the title clash will be Sheffield Arena.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Bizier has lost two of his 27 fights and Sheffield star Brook will be expected to comfortably deal with the Canadian puncher.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Brook, 29, pulled out of an October defence against Diego Chaves because of a rib injury suffered in sparring.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
But he has fully recovered now and will hope by getting his mandatory out of the way it will clear the path for a summer clash with British rival Khan.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Brook’s promoter Hearn has already provisionally booked Wembley Stadium for June 4 in the hope of getting a deal done.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
It would be the biggest fight in the UK since Carl Froch’s eighth-round knockout of George Groves at the same venue in May 2014.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Khan, 29, has not fought since his May win over Chris Algieri in New York so it is likely the Bolton fighter would want to get into the ring before the potential June clash.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
However, it is not clear what the former light-welterweight world champion’s plans are since he missed out on a money-spinning fight with Manny Pacquiao.</div>

The former WBA heavyweight champion fights the little-known Mark de Mori on Saturday, three-and-a-half years after his last appearance, when he stopped Dereck Chisora in five rounds in July 2012.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Since then, owing to a hand injury, a cut eye and a career-threatening shoulder injury, Haye has twice withdrawn from fights with Tyson Fury and another date with Manuel Charr, significantly damaging his reputation and making retirement appear likely.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
In addition to the effects of the ring rust that will have gathered after such a lengthy absence, his change of trainer from Adam Booth to Shane McGuigan, and the shoulder injury which required surgery, there is a risk that at 35 his reflexes - so central to his explosive style - will have declined.</div>

Four days before fighting the Australian, however, Haye's upper body clearly has a bigger build, and he insisted that had not affected his speed and his greater size is deliberate because it helps him to avoid further injuries.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"I don't really weigh myself, I'm just packing in the food as much as I can," he said. "I used to, in years gone by, diet down a lot. In my old training camps I used to get as light as I could possibly get, I used to come in around 15 stone, I'd lose a stone just cutting my food down.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"The general consensus back then was the lighter I am, the closer I am to cruiserweight, the faster I will be, and that's all well and good, but when you're cutting weight down so low, and sparring big guys, I get injured.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"A good reason not to do that is injury prevention, so instead of dieting down I've been packing the food in, eating every two, two-and-a-half hours. I'm setting alarms to make sure that I eat, that the weight doesn't get too low.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"I've been performing with that additional weight. I'm not as ripped as I was in my last few fights, but it's not a bodybuilding competition.</div>

"The fact that I've got to this fight without injuries, sounds crazy, but for me that's the real, real big plus, a big bonus."</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
De Mori, 33, has never previously faced a fighter of Haye's profile, but he was adamant he is not reliant on the heavyweight's injuries recurring and that he intends to win by applying consistent pressure.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"The time off has probably done the guy good. This is less about breaking him down, and looking for injuries that he may or may not have, it's more just about putting myself in position to land a knockout punch," he said.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"To put yourself in that position, you can't sit around on the outside dancing around and being defensive, you have to engage. It's a risky approach, but it's the only approach a guy with my style can take, and that's what I'm prepared for."</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Tony Bellew has only lost two of his 29 professional fights in Boxing</td></tr>

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Bellew is one of the stars in the new film Creed, a spin-off from the Rocky franchise, with Goodison the backdrop to the fight scenes.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Now Everton fan Bellew - who claimed the European title when out-pointing Mateusz Masternak last month - says his appetite has been whetted and he now wants to fulfil a boyhood ambition by sampling the real thing.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"Ultimately that is the dream," said Bellew. "I don't care about making movies, I don't care about fighting at Wembley, I'd take Goodison Park over Vegas any day of the week.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"It is just my dream. I was sitting where the letter F is in the Gwladys End, about the ninth or 10th seat in, I was sitting on the first seat above that white F. I remember us playing here, having my season ticket there and I was getting thrown down those rows to get on the pitch after we beat Wimbledon.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"I've been on the pitch at Everton I forget how many times but I've been on twice as just a fan. Once against Wimbledon, once against Coventry. I tell you now I'm a blue, I'm an Everton fan through and through. The biggest dream of my life would be to fight there.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"It wouldn't matter what type of fight. I want to win a world title but if I could just stick a ring in the middle of that pitch it would just be a dream come true.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"The words from Antonio Tarver [who starred in Rocky 6] was that Hollywood made him soft - it just made me tougher and harder. I showed that in my last fight. I'm still me, the same daft Scouser who is capable of anything at any time. Someone who is basically unpredictable.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"People think that now I've made this movie that it was going to soften me up, dampen my appetite in some kind of way but it was never going to do that."</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Bellew initially thought he was the victim of a hoax organised by Everton duo Ross Barkley and Leon Osman when movie director Ryan Coogler approached him.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Yet Coogler wanted a boxer who attracted a football following and Bellew started filming after first dispatching Nathan Cleverley in a Cruiserweight contest in November 2014.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Now he will hold talks with promoter Eddie Hearn about fixing a world title shot at his beloved Goodison.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“There is talk of Lebedev (WBA champion), there is talk of Glowacki (WBO champion),” said Bellew. “We offered Ramirez (IBF champion) a fight but he wouldn’t take it. It was his career highest pay day. </div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“I should have fought for the world title last time. The Masternak fight was made because Ramirez said no after he drew with Ovill McKenzie. He must have looked at how I dealt with McKenzie twice.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“David Haye told me before the fight ‘if we are going to fight why would you fight this Masternak guy?’ It was a crazy fight to take. </div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“He is a big solid fighter who has only lost once. I thought I could beat him and show the world how good a cruiserweight I am and I believe I have done that. </div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“To take such a tough fight before the movie came out people said I was crazy to do it and maybe I was, but I believe in myself so much. </div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
“I believe I can go out into the middle of that pitch and win a world title, without a shadow of a doubt.”</div>

The British heavyweight hurt the awful Aussie with a big right hand before finishing him with a flurry of shots.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As comebacks go it could not have gone much better or quicker for the returning former two-weight world champion who knocked his opponent out in the first round.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But the Londoner will have to step the level of opposition up fast if he wants to be taken seriously in the heavyweight division again and achieve his dream of becoming heavyweight world champion again.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haye, 35, had not fought since his 2012 stoppage win over British rival Dereck Chisora.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He pulled out of two fights with Tyson Fury in 2013 because of injury with the second one the serious shoulder problem that required surgery and almost ended his career.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion had hinted at comebacks for the last 18 months but it was only in November that his return was confirmed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haye, who weighed in at a career-highest 16st 3lb yesterday, looked far bigger than his previous outing three-and-a-half years ago.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Croatian-based De Mori, who had not lost in 11 years, was a stone heavier but well out of his depth against the British fighter.</div>

It was obvious from the start in front of 16,000 fans at the O2 Arena that this was going to be over quickly.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haye was able to pick and choose his shots with ease as he barely broke a sweat.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He hurt De Mori early on with a left hook as the Australian rarely threw a shot back in retaliation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was over when Haye found a way through with his ‘Hayemaker’ shot as his promise that his shoulder was stronger than ever following surgery proved to be true.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
De Mori fell back to the ropes as Haye moved in with a succession of big shots before the Aussie crumpled to the floor.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
David Haye insists his first fight in three-and-a-half years against Australian Mark de Mori next Saturday at the O2 Arena is only his return from injury.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The former two-weight world champion revealed he never hung up his gloves after doctors advised him to following serious shoulder surgery in 2013.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And is adamant he is only returning to the ring to achieve a “fairy tale finish” for his career and not for the money.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Heavyweight star Haye, 35, has not fought since his 2012 win over British rival Dereck Chisora at Upton Park.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He twice pulled out of a fight with now WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury because of a cut in sparring and then the shoulder injury that required serious surgery in Germany.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haye flirted with returning to the ring for more than 18 months, but seemed more interested in a jet set lifestyle as he toured the world and mingled with celebrities.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But now the former WBA heavyweight champion – who revealed he was depressed and had to go through “dark days” in the aftermath  of his shoulder surgery – is back.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“The simple answer to why I’m coming back is because I’m physically able to fight,” he said as he put the finishing touches to his first camp with new trainer Shane McGuigan.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I always believed I would be back. There were some very dark days after the injury when I was depressed.</div>

“I’m not coming back for money. I feel I have unfinished business. My last fight was with Chisora, that was just a stepping stone to a world title.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Vitali Klitschko said he would fight the winner so I did it, but then he fought Manuel Charr and then retired. That fight didn’t happen, so we went for Fury.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“It was frustrating getting cut right before the first fight then my shoulder went for the next one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I’ve been out through injury, I didn’t retire. I didn’t say I was retired, or do an official retirement announcement.</div>

“People think I’m coming out of retirement, but that’s not the case. I’m coming back from injury.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haye, of course, did retire once after his defeat by Klitschko as he had promised he would quit when he turned 31.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That hiatus ended when he returned to settle a feud with Chisora after they brawled at a press conference.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But there is no clock ticking on his career now despite being four years past the age he initially wanted to retire as he looks to finish in style.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I haven’t given myself a time frame until I retire,” Haye, who has lost two of his 28 fights, said.</div>

“It could be in two years, it could be three. I give myself one fight at a time. I take it from there.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I always said I would retire at 30 but the fight before my 31st year was the loss against Wladimir Klitschko on points and it left a bitter taste in my mouth.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“If I had of won that fight I would have retired the undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I would like the fairy tale ending that I didn’t quite have.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haye is unsure if that fairy tale finish is avenging his Klitschko loss if the Ukrainian can beat Fury in their return later this year or whether it is just regaining the heavyweight crown from whoever has it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But he is aware that, at 35, there is no room for any slip ups as a fight with Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua has also been earmarked for the returning Londoner.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I can’t afford to lose any fight. I can’t lose. I need to be winning and winning in good style,” he said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“The bottom line is I want to regain the heavyweight championship of the world. That was always my intention. If I lose now I can’t do that.”</div>

The Londoner is understood to have raked in around £3million for the seventh-round destruction of Dillian Whyte at London's O2 earlier this month.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Unbeaten Joshua recently signed a five-year deal with promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom that included a cut of the pay-per-view sales, and that has led directly to the big numbers many fighters can only dream of.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
The 18,000 capacity O2 sold out within six hours for the bout against Whyte and pay-per-view sales have been described as "staggering".</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Joshua, 26, is the most sought-after heavyweight in the division with the Klitschko brothers Wladimir and Vitali trying to persuade him to sign with their company K2 Promotions.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
On the other side of the Atlantic, fight guru Al Haymon has been signing up British boxers like James DeGale and Lee Selby but he too lost out on Joshua, who has been with Hearn since he won the gold medal at the London Olympics.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
In April, Joshua bids to extend his winning run to 16 when he fights again at London's O2 with the opponent yet to be named.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Joshua has already said he would welcome a rematch against Whyte who gave him his biggest test to date and came close to causing a shock before he was eventually KO'd.</div>

Groves, 27, lost twice to fellow British star Carl Froch before suffering a split decision points loss to Badou Jack in Las Vegas last September.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
The Super Middleweight is fighting for the first time since his WBC title defeat against Andrea Di Luisa at the Olympic Park's Copper Box arena on January 30th.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
The fight with Italian Di Luisa will mark the debut of his partnership with trainer Shane McGuigan, the son of former World Champion Barry.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"I don't think this is last chance saloon. I have got plenty more to offer. They keep on saying to me its make or break after every fight.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"You lose and you ask yourself 'can I be bothered to go again' but it doesn't last that long. I didn't give myself the chance to make any decisions.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"It has always been boxing and always will be. I thought I would have a break until the New Year and then go again.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"I want to get my ranking back. So all I need is a win. I still have good stock so it is something for me to build on," he said.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Groves believes that two or three wins could provide the springboard for a showdown with his old rival James DeGale, the current IBF champion this summer. "The James DeGale fight is always there for me. He is doing very well for himself but he is never going to beat me. I have got his number.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"I am more than happy with that. I didn't see the Lucian Bute fight, I was at a friend's wedding but I followed it on Twitter and it seemed pretty close.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"So he has got Al Haymon helping him out. He had Andre Dirrell all over the shop in big trouble but didn't have the nuts or the condition to finish the job.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"He was pretty lucky that night as well. So he is getting all of the close decisions whereas I am not getting them.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
"It's annoying because when you go through the list who is the best in the division he would probably be up there, but his only loss is to me."</div>

<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
The Liverpool fighter was a level above his opponent as he stopped him in the seventh round at Manchester Arena.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Smith, 27, put the WBO strap he won in October at the same venue on the line against the relatively unknown, but unbeaten, Kelly.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
The first round was fairly competitive as the Manchester man – roared on by the home crowd – looked like he might be able to handle Smith’s aggression.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
But from the second round onwards this was only going to be a win for the defending champion.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Smith piled on the pressure and in the third round was able to patiently wait for opportunities to open up before landing.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
The first of the four fighting brothers to win a world title then hurt Kelly with a sickening body shot in the fifth.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Kelly – in just his 17th professional bout – was in real trouble as he took powerful shots on the ropes.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
He managed to survive the round, but any slim hope he had of delivering a huge upset evaporated in the sixth.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Kelly seemed frustrated as he tried to head-butt his opponent and referee Marcus McDonnell docked him two points for the blatant foul.</div>

<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Smith moved in for the kill in the seventh as a big right hand over the top stunned Kelly.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
The Manchester fighter – who had never been in a 12-round contest before – suffered a delayed reaction as he fell onto the ropes.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
The referee did not deem it as a knockdown when he crumpled to the floor, but the bout did not last much longer.</div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">
Smith moved in to land another succession of right blows and the towel came into the ring from Kelly’s corner as the referee stepped between them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Liverpool fighter – who extended his record to 23 fights unbeaten - will be hoping for a step up in class in his next defence, but he looked impressive in dealing with his first challenger even if he was not a world-class opponent.</div>
