The British heavyweight returned to the ring after three-and-a-half years out by flattening awful Aussie Mark de Mori in just 131 seconds at the O2 Arena on Saturday night.</div>

Former two-weight world champion Haye, 35, is eyeing up a summer showdown with Joshua.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
But the Olympic gold medallist's promoter Eddie Hearn has poured cold water on the chances of it happening this year - unless Haye can win a world title.</div>
<div class="storycopy" style="text-align: justify;">
Hearn said: "We are targeting a world title in 2016 and David doesn't really help with that cause. It's a big fight and a big pay day, but those are being delivered for Anthony naturally anyway.</div>

"I'm sure if they keep winning, the fight has every chance of happening, but right now the focus is on that world title."</div>

Haye could win a world title this year but the earliest he could get a shot at a belt would be in the summer and that would leave it too late for a clash with rising star Joshua as both sides would want that fight to be in a stadium outdoors.</div>

That means it is unlikely we will see Haye against Joshua until the summer of 2017 unless Hearn makes a U-turn on his plans for his golden boy.</div>

Haye barely had time to shake off any ring rust after his lengthy absence as he sparked De Mori in the first round.</div>

The former world heavyweight and cruiserweight champion did get to show his right shoulder, which needed reconstructive surgery three years ago, is as strong as ever.</div>

Haye lashed in his big 'Hayemaker' shot to rock De Mori in front of 16,000 fans and then finished the job with a flurry of shots before medics rushed in to tend to the stricken Australian.</div>

David Haye insists his first fight in three-and-a-half years against Australian Mark de Mori next Saturday at the O2 Arena is only his return from injury.</div>

The former two-weight world champion revealed he never hung up his gloves after doctors advised him to following serious shoulder surgery in 2013.</div>

And is adamant he is only returning to the ring to achieve a “fairy tale finish” for his career and not for the money.</div>

Heavyweight star Haye, 35, has not fought since his 2012 win over British rival Dereck Chisora at Upton Park.</div>

He twice pulled out of a fight with now WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury because of a cut in sparring and then the shoulder injury that required serious surgery in Germany.</div>

Haye flirted with returning to the ring for more than 18 months, but seemed more interested in a jet set lifestyle as he toured the world and mingled with celebrities.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But now the former WBA heavyweight champion – who revealed he was depressed and had to go through “dark days” in the aftermath  of his shoulder surgery – is back.</div>

“The simple answer to why I’m coming back is because I’m physically able to fight,” he said as he put the finishing touches to his first camp with new trainer Shane McGuigan.</div>

The former WBA heavyweight champion fights the little-known Mark de Mori on Saturday, three-and-a-half years after his last appearance, when he stopped Dereck Chisora in five rounds in July 2012.</div>

Since then, owing to a hand injury, a cut eye and a career-threatening shoulder injury, Haye has twice withdrawn from fights with Tyson Fury and another date with Manuel Charr, significantly damaging his reputation and making retirement appear likely.</div>

Four days before fighting the Australian, however, Haye's upper body clearly has a bigger build, and he insisted that had not affected his speed and his greater size is deliberate because it helps him to avoid further injuries.</div>

"I don't really weigh myself, I'm just packing in the food as much as I can," he said. "I used to, in years gone by, diet down a lot. In my old training camps I used to get as light as I could possibly get, I used to come in around 15 stone, I'd lose a stone just cutting my food down.</div>

"The general consensus back then was the lighter I am, the closer I am to cruiserweight, the faster I will be, and that's all well and good, but when you're cutting weight down so low, and sparring big guys, I get injured.</div>

"A good reason not to do that is injury prevention, so instead of dieting down I've been packing the food in, eating every two, two-and-a-half hours. I'm setting alarms to make sure that I eat, that the weight doesn't get too low.</div>

Haye is unsure if that fairy tale finish is avenging his Klitschko loss if the Ukrainian can beat Fury in their return later this year or whether it is just regaining the heavyweight crown from whoever has it.</div>

But he is aware that, at 35, there is no room for any slip ups as a fight with Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua has also been earmarked for the returning Londoner.</div>

“I can’t afford to lose any fight. I can’t lose. I need to be winning and winning in good style,” he said.</div>

Fury was supposed to fight Haye twice in 2013 but the former WBA heavyweight champion pulled out twice - first with a cut, then a shoulder injury.</div>

It left the Manchester-born traveller furious and he contemplated quitting the sport. "The Man with No Name [Haye], I tell you now, will never get an opportunity,." said Fury. "For what he did to me, what he put me through mentally, physically, he tortured me, that kid. And I will never give him an opportunity for that.</div>

Fury is likely to face Klitschko in a rematch next year before he can move on. The contract for this fight included an immediate rematch clause and the Ukrainian must officially confirm he will take up the option within two months.</div>
