SQUARE ENIX fans eager to find out more on Final Fantasy 15's release date and Final Fantasy 7's 2016 plans have been given new updates to pour over.
Final Fantasy 15 has undergone many changes since its original announcement and will finally see release in 2016.
FFXV game director Hajime Tabata gave an update on January 1 but failed to reveal a firm release date for the title.
Tabata has now revealed that fans will have to wait until March for the official announcement
Tabata made the announcement In a new issue of Famitsu, confirming that Final Fantasy 15’s beta version is underway.
"This year is the year we'll release Final Fantasy XV, he explained.
"Currently, we've decided on all of its specifications and the beta version is under production so we can shift into the debug phase.
"We'll show the real XV during the release date announcement this March."
Another producer connected to one of Square Enix’s most anticipated titles, Final Fantasy 7 remake, has spoken more on what plans his team has in 2016.
Yoshinori Kitase spoke more on the subject of the game’s ambitions, revealing that they hope to create something special for the PS4.
Speaking to Famitsu, Kitase explained: “I believe that this year will still be a year of preparations for Final Fantasy VII Remake,"
"I'd like to create a new kind of value for the hardware that is the PlayStation 4 for our next announcement."
It was announced in December 2015 that the Final Fantasy 7 remake would be using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4, instead of Square Enix’s in-house equivalent.
“We realise how special Final Fantasy VII is to fans, and we place our trust in Unreal Engine 4 technology and tools to help deliver this long-awaited remake, crafted for modern platforms," Kitase said at the time.
"Working with the team at Epic and having their support throughout this process was invaluable and we're excited to bring the product of that collaboration to long-time fans and newcomers to the series."
Happy New Year everyone!
