Chelsea Transfer News: Ivanovic exit, loan flop receives support, board make Remy decision

Galatasaray general secretary Fatih Isbecer is set for talks with Chelsea Branislav Ivanovic, according to reports.

Turkish daily sports paper AMK claim the Serbian defender is a target for Galatasaray, with his contract ending at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has had a difficult season, with a number of poor performances leading to criticism from supporters.

 

Patrick Bamford has been backed by Ray Wilkins to help Chelsea's striker woes.

Despite beating Crystal Palace 3-0 on Sunday, the Premier League champions have struggled for goals this season scoring 26 goals compared to 44 at the same stage last campaign.

And Wilkins feels Bamford, who failed to impress on loan at Palace, deserves an opportunity.

He said: "I look at Chelsea and Patrick Bamford, for example. When a side like Chelsea are playing to the ability that they have I'm sure you can throw a young man in and give him an opportunity to play.

"I'm sure Bamford, who scored 19 goals for Middlesbrough in the Championship last season, would score goals for Chelsea because he is a very bright human being."

 

Branislav Ivanovic has had a tough season for Chelsea

 

Loic Remy has been "blocked" by the Chelsea hierarchy from leaving the club this month.

The French striker's been linked with moves to Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle during the transfer window.

But according to The Sun, interim manager Guus Hiddink is determined to hold onto Remy and wants to retain his services amid doubts over Radamel Falcao's future at the club.
