LOIC REMY will not be allowed to leave Chelsea during the transfer window, according to reports.
The French striker has been linked with the likes of Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle after growing frustrated with his lack of playing time.
But according to The Sun, the 29-year-old has been "blocked" by the Chelsea hierarchy from leaving the club this month.
Interim boss Guus Hiddink is understood to want to keep Remy due to concerns of Radamel Falcao, whose loan spell has so far proved unsuccessful.
Last week, Hiddink hit out at Villa boss Remi Garde for making his interest in Remy public.
He said: "You have to respect where the players are. If you are interested, talk first to the people with whom they are contracted.
"You cannot go into details. I don't think we or the management will go into a similar situation.
"Things must be done if you want to reinforce your squad, or if other clubs want to do so, so you talk directly to the management of the club who owns the player.
"You don't go through the side door."
