Manchester United and PSG are both interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo |
CARLO ANCOLETTI insists there is no dispute between Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez.
Ronaldo, 30, is said to be unhappy with life at the Bernabeu and is reportedly looking for an exit.
Manchester United are known suitors of the Portugese superstar, with manager Louis van Gaal confirming their interest at the weekend.
But Ronaldo's former manager Ancelotti says he knows nothing of the player's intentions and that, as far as he is aware, all is well between him and boss Benitez.
"I talked on the phone a few days ago with Cristiano Ronaldo and he did not tell me anything about problems with the coach," Ancelotti told Radio Anch’io lo Sport.
“He tows the line and always tries to help his team.
"When things aren’t going well, it’s obvious that the forwards have to suffer most."
Real lost the Clasico 4-0 to Barcelona on Saturday evening, a result that reportedly sparked arguments in the Bernabeu's home dressing room.
An unnamed Barcelona player was quoted as saying Ronaldo is determined to leave the club after taking a dislike to Benitez's methods.
"The atmosphere in the dressing room is not good," the player told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
"(Ronaldo) is not happy. He is not comfortable with the team or at the club and he wants to leave."
United are favourites to sign Ronaldo should he force through a switch.
It is believed Real would command a minimum £60million fee for their talisman, while United would expect to pay the player £250,000 a week.
