AN unnamed Barcelona player has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo wants to quit Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
Ronaldo, 30, was said to be furious after Real's crushing 4-0 defeat at home to Barcelona on Saturday.
"The atmosphere in the dressing room is not good," Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo quote the Barca player as saying, although they refuse to name him.
"(Ronaldo) is not happy. He is not comfortable with the team or at the club and he wants to leave."
According to the report, the Barca player went into the Real Madrid dressing room after the game for a friendly chat and then relayed to reporters what he saw.
Ronaldo is understood to be angling for a move away from the Bernabeu and has reportedly fallen out with manager Rafael Benitez.
The revelation comes a day after United manager Louis van Gaal confirmed he is interested in signing the Portugal superstar.
"With Ronaldo, let's wait and hope," Van Gaal said after United's 2-1 win over Watford on Saturday.
"Ronaldo plays on the wings and he is fast and scores goals. There is no trainer in the world that doesn't like him.
"Of course we are looking at all players - not just Ronaldo."
United are understood to be considering a £60million bid for Ronaldo next summer and will offer the player a £250,000-a-week contract.
However, that would still not make him the highest earner in the Premier League, with United and England captain Wayne Rooney picking up £300,000-a-week.
