Witcher 3 update: Hearts of Stone hits Xbox One and PS4, CD Projekt RED reveal DLC changes
Witcher 3 fans may have to wait longer for the Blood and Wine expansion in 2016
WITCHER 3 fans will get their first taste of the Hearts of Stone expansion today, although they may have to wait longer for the second, Blood and Wine, in 2016.

Opening up a new area and including ten hours of new gameplay, Hearts of Stone was released today and pits Geralt against new monsters and an immortal enemy.
Speaking to Red Bull, CD Projekt Red senior art producer Micha? Krzeminski summed up the new expansion as a big project shaped in the same way as older DLC offerings.
"HoS is an old-school, big expansion older gamers might remember as add-on discs – rich in content, meaningful and, I think, with a fair price tag for what people get," he said.
"As for the plot in HoS, the only thing I can say without spoiling too much is that Geralt needs to confront a guy who's...immortal. At least at first, because, as usual with The Witcher games, everything soon goes in every possible direction.

Hearts of Stone was released today on Xbox One, PS4 and PC
"Expect tough choices, characters at least as deep and complex as the Bloody Baron from Wild Hunt, and many twists and turns."
Gamers will need to try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass, while being caught in a thick tangle of deceit, with access to the new Runeword abilities.
However, the expansion pass secures access to two packs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
Blood and Wine has been described as a 20-hour tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint and "will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret."
It looks like that CD Projekt RED are looking to push back the launch date for the second pack, with a recent press release slating it for the first half of 2016.

That contradicts The Witcher 3 website, which states: "The upcoming expansions will offer gamers new content, gear and foes, and will feature characters both new and dearly missed -- all crafted with maximum attention to detail and quality.
"Hearts of Stone will premiere in October, while Blood and Wine is slated for release in the first quarter of 2016."
As Blood and Wine wasn't given an exact release date it would appear the developers are making sure to give themselves enough to complete the project, which will include double the amount of gameplay hours than Hearts of Stone.
