MANCHESTER UNITED are expected to wait until July to bid for £40million Everton ace Romelu Lukaku - but they are still not guaranteed to get their man.
It emerged yesterday that United, keen on securing Lukaku's services, are not considering a January swoop for the striker.
Instead, manager Louis van Gaal is willing to bide his time and will place an initial £40m offer at the end of the season.
However, reports have emerged that suggest Van Gaal may still struggle to sign the Belgium international.
The Sun on Sunday claim that while United's interest in the forward is guanine, Lukaku himself isn't interested in a move to Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old has hit top form over the winter months, with 12 goals scored since November.
And it is claimed that his goalscoring prowess has caught the eye of both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
According to reports, Lukaku would prefer a move away from the Premier League, where he believes his chances of winning the Champions League are greater.
Both Real and PSG have reached the latter stages of Europe's elite club competition over the past few years and can likely match Lukaku's contract demands.
They are also reportedly willing to go as high as £50m to sign the frontman.
As for United, they are yet to secure any new players during this transfer window but are expected to spend big before February's deadline.
