MANCHESTER CITY striker Wilfried Bony has been linked with a shock move back to his former club Swansea just 12 months after leaving the Liberty Stadium.

Shock exit: Manchester City star linked with stunning return to Premier League rival
Swansea are reportedly targeting a move to buy Bony back from Man City

The Swans have been desperately short of goals this season, scoring just 17 in 20 matches, which leaves them two points above the relegation zone in 17th place.
Bony left the Welsh club to join City in the last January transfer window for £28million but the Ivorian has found opportunities at the Etihad limited, especially with the form of Sergio Aguero.

In 33 matches for City, Bony has scored 10 goals but just six in the Premier League in the last 12 months.

The 27-year-old has also struggled with injuries and failed to keep a regular first-team spot in Manchester.
Swansea's two top scorers, Andrew Ayew and Bafetimbi Gomis, have only managed 11 goals between them and the report that the Swans are willing to splash out to get Bony back.

Gomis, expected to become Swansea's leading striker, has scored just one goal since he managed four in the first four matches of the season and boss Alan Curtis has admitted he's eager to find someone who can find the back of the net in January.
Bony was prolific in his 18 months in Wales, scoring 34 goals in his 70 appearances, and with Swansea desperate to escape the relegation battle, a move for their former star could be in the pipeline.
