Netflix now has a staggering 74.76 million members worldwide – a fact that sent its shares soaring by as much as 8 per cent.
And Netflix’s numbers only look set to increase, following its recent expansion to 130 additional countries across the globe.
But the US firm also announced a price change for its most loyal customers.
Netflix customers who signed up years ago, and only pay $7.99 per month for unlimited HD streaming are being given the option to continue streaming in standard definition, or pay $9.99 per month to continue watching in full HD.
This will bring those on the old price plan up-to-date with Netflix’s new pricing.

NewsNewsBlog.blogspot.com has approached Netflix to see whether longterm UK subscribers can expect the same price bump.
