Liverpool Transfer News: Boss talks Sturridge move, £25m Chelsea boost, £8m winger warning

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has dismissed speculation linking his side with an £18million move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge this month.

“That is only a rumour and there is nothing behind it,” said Bilic when asked about the former Chelsea and Manchester City man.

“I am not talking about who we want - Daniel Sturridge is a big player and a big name - but that is only paper talk.”

 

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claim Liverpool have had a £25m bid rejected for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira.

The news is likely to come as a boost to Premier League rivals Chelsea, who have been keeping tabs on the Brazilian since the summer.

Donetsk are reportedly keen to keep hold of the 26-year-old, who has 26 goals in as many appearances this term, unless his £38.3m asking price is met.

Liverpool target Anwar El Ghazi is not for sale this month

 

And finally, Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has warned both Liverpool and Manchester United that target Anwar El Ghazi is not for sale.

The English clubs have been linked with £8m moves for the Netherlands winger this month, but Overmars has warned them not to bother.

“The player is not for sale and no club has come forward in a concrete way for El Ghazi with an economic offer,” he told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
