A STAGGERING new concept video imagines a dramatic iPhone redesign with a borderless display and no physical Home Button.
Apple probably won't reveal the iPhone 7 until September, but that hasn't stopped an onslaught of rumours, concept images and videos hitting the web.
The latest jaw-dropping concept video comes from the team at iPhone-Tricks.de, who have imagined a dramatic redesign for its next smartphone.
The video imagines a futuristic new design with a borderless display.
Apple's upcoming operating system update – iOS 10 – could allow users to expand certain apps on the homescreen to display more information, similar to the Live Tiles in Windows Phone.
The video imagines Apple dropping the physical Home Button from the iPhone, integrating the Touch ID functionality into the display.
In the concept video, the user touches the lower half of the 5.4-inch, 2048x1080 pixel display to unlock the iPhone.
Apple has previously been granted a patent for a similar technology.
The concept video also makes the assumption Apple will drop its own Lightning connection in favour of USB Type-C, like its latest ultra-portable MacBook.
Earlier rumours point to Apple ditching the industry-standard 3.5mm headphone port from its new smartphone.
It is believed Apple got rid of the port in a bid to make the iPhone 7 the thinnest ever.
Ditching this 3.5mm socket could also mean Apple is finally able to increase the screen size, with some reports even suggesting the display could be expanded down to the base of the phone.
However, not everyone is so keen on Apple's possible headphone plans with over 290,000 people signing a petition pleading with the US firm to keep the ageing port.
Other new rumoured features that are causing less outrage include upgraded cameras, faster processor and waterproof design.
