NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you all the latest transfer news coming out of Elland Road.
Leeds have signed midfielder Toumani Diagouraga from fellow Championship side Brentford.
According the Yorkshire Post, the 28-year-old Frenchman has signed a two-and-a-half year deal after meeting with club representatives today to agree personal terms in a move believed to be worth £600,000.
Rangers were also interested in the midfielder but Steve Evans has bolstered his ranks following the departure of Sam Byram to West Ham.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez admits the reason why Everton did not sign Sam Byram was because he 'was not the right player'.
The 22-year-old held talks with Martinez over a move to Goodison Park but opted to sign for West Ham in a £3.7million deal this week.
And Martinez claims that the proposed move was not right for both parties despite the club scouting him for six months and having a bid accepted.
“We went through the correct procedures and we established a good relationship with Leeds, but in the end it was not the right move for Sam and he wasn’t the right player for us with the squad that we have," he said.
“That was end of the matter really. I am pleased that we were at the forefront of identifying a player who has terrific potential but it was not right for both parties.”
Massimo Cellino has reportedly been on a scouting mission in Italy to find a replacement for Sam Byram.
Italian outlet Tutto Mercato claim the Leeds owner has begun his mission by watching right-back Fabrizio Cacciatore in action for Chievo on Sunday.
Cacciatore, 29, played the full 90 minutes in Chievo's 1-1 home draw against Empoli.
