Alexis Sanchez will miss this weekend's match with Sunderland |
The Chilean has been absent since the end of the November with the injury and this is the second time an expected return has been postponed.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: “The bad news of the week is that Alexis is not quite ready.
“It is a precaution because of his hamstring, and it takes a few more days. He’s not bad but he’s not ready.”
The 26-year-old is among the top scorers in Europe, with 24 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions and Spanish journalist Kike Marin says Arsenal have made a club record bid for the player. It was claimed that a deal was close to being done earlier this week but Dortmund confirmed Aubameyang’s absence from training was for a "personal appointment”.The 25-year-old was linked with a move to the Emirates during the summer but signed a one-year extension to his current deal, taking his contract until 2019.He told FourFourTwo: “The Premier League? Some say it’s the best in the world, other people think that’s La Liga.“I've heard about Arsenal, but I leave it to my agent. “I trust him and he's the one who deals with that kind of the stuff. “I can’t think about things like that. I have to keep my mind free of any distraction and just focus on doing my job for Sevilla.”
