The pair were believed to have clashed at the club's Cobham training facility after a 'hefty' tackle from the Brazilian on Costa.
And the striker then retaliated with a stronger challenge and the two had to be separated as team-mates watched on.

Guus Hiddink's side were preparing for their FA Cup tie with Scunthorpe on Sunday when the bust-up has believed to have happened.
But the Brazilian international took to Twitter to dismiss the reports insisting that Costa is one of his best friends.
He tweeted: "Those who are saying that Diego Costa and I had a fight today in training is lying, he is one of my best friends and we would never fight."
