And Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim Feghouli's time at Valencia, the club now managed by former United ace Gary Neville, is up after he rejected a fresh contract offer.
The Frenchman, who joined Valencia from Grenoble in 2010, has made 15 appearances for the Liga side this season.
He reportedly fits the mould is seeking to bring in to his squad over the upcoming transfer window.
Van Gaal has already said he wants pace and flare on the wings as United struggle for goals.

They are winless in five games and lost 2-1 at Bournemouth on Saturday to slip four points behind Arsenal in the title race.
Van Gaal spent big on midfield players over the summer, bringing in Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger, while young attacker Anthony Martial arrived from Monaco.
