elotti is out of work and has confirmed his interest in taking over at United.

And Ronaldo, 30, may be tempted to rejoin his old club to link up with a manager he has a strong affinity for.

"He's an unbelievable person," the Real Madrid star said. "I just wish every player could have an opportunity to work with him because he's a fantastic guy, a fantastic coach and I miss him a lot because we won many trophies together.

"And I wish to work with him one day again. But now I'm good. I have a new coach and I'm happy too, but it's great I have good memories."

Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling may be on his way to Liverpool after admitting he is considering quitting the Bundesliga club in January.

Kiessling, 31, has been linked with a move to Anfield to join up with new Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

And the Germany international admits his future at the BayArena is uncertain.

"I want to be playing a bit of football at the end of my career and that is why I've got to give things good thought," he said.

"I'll speak to the bosses and see what the best solution is."
