Jose Mourinho says Chelsea have no chance of making the top four this season |
CHELSEA can forget about finishing in the top four this season, says Jose Mourinho.
The Blues suffered a 2-1 defeat to Leicester to leave them just one point above the relegation one.
Claudio Ranieri's side knocked Arsenal off the top spot to sit two points ahead of the Gunners and an incredible 20 points clear of the champions.
The Blues are 14 points off Manchester United in fourth place but Mourinho acknowledges that the chance of finishing in a Champions League spot is now out of reach.
"The top four is gone - clearly," he told Sky Sports when asked about his side's chances.
Jamie Vardy scored with a volleyed effort after 34 minutes from a delightful Riyad Mahrez cross, before the Algerian doubled the home side's lead shortly after the break.
Loic Remy clawed a goal back for the visitors 13 minutes from time but it wasn't enough to save Mourinho's side from recording their ninth loss of the season.
