NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you the latest news from Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are frontrunners to sign highly-rated Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva, according to reports.
Fichajes claim the Blues will meet the French club's £21.6million asking price in order to see off competition from Barcelona.
The La Liga giants are understood to be showing interest in the Portugal international and will act in January once their transfer embargo is lifted.
Thiago Silva believes Chelsea's winter schedule will hamper them in their Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
"Chelsea are playing at Christmas and New Year and that must be a great effort for them, a very difficult moment both mentally and physically," he told Omnisport.
"When it comes to the crucial moments of the season, the knockout stages of the Champions League and the end of the local leagues, they are more tired because they didn't have a winter break."
Chelsea have been warned by Shakhtar Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu they may have to pay a hefty £36m fee for Alex Teixeira.
“Alex is now worth more than 40 million Euros (£28.9m).I think at the end of the season - were he to continue with this performance - his value is 50 million Euros (£36.1m)," he said.
Teixeira has scored 26 goals in as many appearances, and News News Blog Sport understands the Blues will make a bid in the region of £30m in January.
