Jamie Carragher lets rip at 'asleep' Chelsea striker Diego Costa

Diego Costa seemed to be telling his Chelsea team-mates to wake up

 

JAMIE CARRAGHER laid into Diego Costa, accusing him of 'being asleep all season' for Chelsea on Monday Night Football.

The Blues went in at half time trailing 1-0 to Leicester courtesy of yet another Jamie Vardy goal - his 15th this season

But Costa was not happy about it, gesturing to the Chelsea defenders to wake up, implying they were asleep for the host's opening goal.

However, Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Carragher was not impressed, hitting out at the striker's poor form in front of goal this term.

"There's nothing worse than a player coming back telling other people what they should be doing considering he's been asleep all season," he said.

 

"He's done nothing really for Chelsea this season considering what he did last year."

Costa has scored just three Premier League goals this campaign, a meagre return considering the 20 he got in the 2014/15 season.
